One throw away from victory

The impressive racing of the PGE Turow basketball players and the great performence of Roderick Camphor weren't enough to defeat AZS again. Koszalinians triumphed on their own court 82:80.

Full of emotion and drama at the ends is the hallmark of the PGE Turow Zgorzelec team this season. This was also the case in Koszalin. The players of coach Michał Claxton have done up 18-point losses and in the last minutes they caught up with their rivals. When AZS was leading 82:80, Robert Skibniewski could have given a decisive blow to the hosts, but the ball after his throw from a distance of 6 seconds before the end literally wriggled out of the basket. Moment before, Cameron Ayers also didn't scored from a distance.

PGE Turów had to come back from a long journey, because in the first half it was very easy to get Diante Baldwin, who scored 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. It was mainly his effective penetrations under the basket that allowed him to lead AZS 41:23 in the second quarter. In addition, Cameron Ayers quickly got into problems with fouls, and Bartosz Bochno was excluded from the game, who turned his ankle before trip to Koszalin.

However, the black and greens had in their ranks a reliable Roderick Camhor who scored 11 of his 20 points in the third quarter, which allowed PGE Turow to return to the game, but unfortunately it wasn't enough to leave Koszalin with a shield.

AZS Koszalin - PGE Turów Zgorzelec 82:80 (20:11, 26:22, 19:28, 17:19)

AZS: Diante Baldwin 24, Modestas Kumpys 16, Kacper Młynarski 13, Aleksandar Marelja 11, Jakub Dłoniak 8, Igor Wadowski 6, Szymon Kiwilsza 2, Nikola Malesević 2, Aleksander Leńczuk 0.

PGE Turow: Rod Camphor 20, Stefan Balmazović 13, Jakub Patoka 11, Brad Waldow 10, Cameron Ayers 7, Robert Skibniewski 6, Jacek Jarecki 5, Kacper Borowski 4, Karolis Petrukonis 4.
